Abies koreana (Korean Fir)

A small slow-growing tree of neat habit. Leaves 1-2cm (0.5in) long, dark green above and gleaming white beneath, radially arranged on strong shoots, loosely arranged on others. An interesting species, producing it's violet-purple, cylindrical cones, 5-7.5cm (2-3in) long, even on specimens half a metre high. Native to South Korea. Height after 10 years 2m (6ft).
Height 10m (30ft), Spread 6m (20ft), 10-20 years to maturity.
