Rubus fruticosus x idaeus 'Buckingham' (Tayberry)
This completely smooth and spineless Tayberry arose in Buckinghamshire. It has excellent vigour with strong canes and in all other respects is virtually identical to the Tayberry. The tayberry is a hybridberry created by crossing blackberries and raspberries. Tayberries plants are higher yielding than loganberries and they produce enormous fruit - often up to 5cm long (2in). These are extremely tasty, have a lovely wine colour and freeze remarkably well. Fruits from the beginning of July to the end of August.
Height 2.5m (8ft), Spread 50cm (1.5ft), 2-5 years to maturity.
