A vigorous, compact, rounded, evergreen shrub with leathery, elliptic, dark green leaves, felted reddish-brown when young, and, in late spring and early summer, pink buds opening to domed clusters of lightly spotted, pale pink flowers with wavy petals, turning white with age.
