A vigorous, spreading, deciduous to semi-evergreen perennial with whorls of ovate to lance-shaped, veined, toothed, strongly aromatic, olive- to mid-green leaves, and dense, terminal spikes of tubular, pale lavender flowers from midsummer to early autumn.
