A semi-evergreen herbaceous perennial with dark green, strap-shaped leaves forming at its base. In late summer it bears large, spherical heads of tubular pale violet-blue and dark blue flowers on upright stems.
Height 75cm (2.5ft), Spread 50cm (1.5ft), 2-5 years to maturity.
