Evergreen shrub of small, dense habit with attractive dropping shoots and glossy green, spiny leaves white beneath. Flowers pale yellow, relatively large, borne singly or in pairs followed by blue-black berries. Thrives in sun or shade and in almost any soil that is not water-logged.
