Prunus insititia 'Sheperd's Bullace' (Damson)

 

An upright, rounded to spreading, deciduous tree with oval, glossy, finely-toothed, dark green leaves and white flowers in spring followed by edible, golden yellow fruit with a sharp flavour, typically ready for harvest in late autumn, ideally left on the tree until a few frosts have sweetened the fruit.
Height & Spread 4m (13ft), 5-10 years to maturity.
