Cupressocyparis leylandii (Leyland Cypress)

A dense vigorous, fast growing columnar tree with foliage held in flat sprays of mid-green. It can reach 15m (49ft) in 10 years and has been recorded as achieving a height of 31m (100ft) in 50 years. It is tolerant of bad weather and excellent for shelter belts. It makes a good hedge and can be kept to a metre or so in height. Plant a minimum of 60cm (2ft) apart.
Height 35m (115ft), Spread 10m (32ft), 10-20 years to maturity.
