Sorbus aria 'Lutescens' (Whitebeam)

 

A striking, handsome whitebeam. This has beautiful leaves that appear in spring on purple shoots, covered in creamy white down, with the colour changing to grey-green for the summer. The bark of the tree has beige and orange tones. White flowers in May, scarlet autumn fruits and yellow autumnal tints.
Height 12m (39ft), Spread 7m (23ft), 20-50 years to maturity.
