A narrowly upright, clump-forming, deciduous perennial grass with flat, linear, red-tipped, mid-green leaves in summer turning burgundy in autumn. Large, weeping panicles of tiny, red-pink flowers bloom in early autumn.
Height 1m (3ft), Spread 60cm (2ft), 2-5 years to maturity.
