An erect, clump-forming, rhizomatous, herbaceous perennial with pinnate leaves divided into ovate, grey-green leaflets and upright stems bearing large, flat-topped, panicles of fluffy, pale mauve to purple-pink flowers in summer.
Height 1m (3ft), Spread 50cm (1.5ft), 2-5 years to maturity.
