A rounded, evergreen shrub with ovate to oval, deep reddish-purple leaves, sometimes turning green in summer, and, from late winter to mid-spring, cymes of dark pink flowers with thin, strap-like petals.
Height 1.2m (4ft), Spread 1.5m (5ft), 10-20 years to maturity.
