A clump-forming, bulbous perennial with glossy, strap-shaped, mid-green leaves and, in summer, sturdy, erect stems bearing dense, dome-shaped umbels of star-shaped, violet flowers in summer.
Height 1m (3ft), Spread 20cm (8in), 2-5 years to maturity.
