A bulbous perennial with broad, arching, strap-shaped, glossy, dark green leaves and sturdy, erect stems bearing huge flowerheads made up of hundreds of blue florets with dark stripes on each petal.
Height 1m (3ft), Spread 50cm (1.5ft), 2-5 years to maturity.
