Acer palmatum var. dissectum (Japanese Maple)

 

A deciduous shrub or small tree with arching shoots bearing rounded, lobed, deeply and finely cut, mid-green leaves turning gold in autumn. Small, pendent clusters of tiny, reddish-purple flowers in spring are followed by red-winged fruit in summer.
Height 2m (6ft), Spread 3m (10ft), 10-20 years to maturity.
