Acer campestre (Field Maple/Hedge Maple)

 

Picturesque, round-headed, medium-sized tree frequently used in rustic hedges. Dense, long-lasting, mid-green foliage turns clear yellow, sometimes flushed red, in autumn. Native to Europe (including The British Isles) and West Asia. This species is common as a hedgerow shrub in the south of Britain.
Height 6m (20ft), Spread 4m (13ft), 10-20 years to maturity.
