A compact, upright, deciduous tree with ovate to elliptic, toothed, leathery, dark green leaves, dark purple when young in spring, and deep pink flowers in mid-spring followed by small, smooth, edible, maroon to reddish-purple fruit ready for harvest in early autumn.
