A slow-growing, rounded, evergreen tree with semi-pendant branches bearing leathery, lance-shaped, mid- to dark green leaves, paler beneath, and panicles of tiny, fragrant, creamy-white flowers in late spring and early summer followed by edible, ovoid, green fruit ripening black.
Height 10m (32ft), Spread 5m (16ft), 10-20 years to maturity.
