Elaeagnus x ebbingei (Silverberry)

A large, dense, rounded, hardy, evergreen shrub, excellent for shelter and for use as a background shrub. The oval leaves are leathery, smooth and rather pointed, silvery on their undersides, dark green above, with young leaves appearing silvery in spring. There are fragrant, creamy-white flowers in late autumn, and sometimes small orange fruits in spring. It can also be grown on a single stem as a small tree.
