A root vegetable with heart-shaped leaves, dense flowering spikes bearing small green flowers. It forms a sweetly edible, deep-red, round, smooth skinned, fleshy taproot with rich red internal coloration. Stands well without going woody.
Height 1m (3ft), Spread 50cm (1.5ft), 2-5 years to maturity.
