Corylus avellana (Native Hazel)

 

A large deciduous shrub or small tree with long yellow male catkins, and short red female catkins in the spring before the leaves. It has green leaves and in summer it has clusters of sweet, oval nuts that are covered with green husks. Good for screening.
Height & Spread 8m (26ft), 10-20 years to maturity.
