An upright, bushy, evergreen perennial or subshrub with biennial shoots bearing dense whorls of linear, blue-green leaves, flushed red when young, and, in spring, cymes of small green flowers surrounded by large, bright yellow to yellow-green bracts.
Height 1m (3ft), Spread 50cm (1.5ft), 2-5 years to maturity.
