Fagus Sylvatica (Green Beech)

A handsome tree which develops into a beautiful bell shape as it matures. It has simple beautiful, glossy green leaves in spring which turn a beautiful bronze and yellow colour in the autumn. If it's grown as a hedge, the plant retains its brown leaves throughout winter before fresh new growth each spring. When grown as a tree, it produces fruit, called beech mast, as well as autumn leaves.
Height 15m (49ft), Spread 12m (39ft), 20-50 years to maturity.
